First Time

Just finished reworking a 1984 poem inspired by my first visit to a live ballet performance of Alice in Wonderland in Darlington. The Poem is part of the Huddersfield Open Studios Trail, Artist collaboration, where images are inspired by words and words are inspired by images. The Images and poem will be printed on postcards and sold to raise funds for the event. Anya Greenop is the artist I’m working with.

First Time

Desire aching,
Entangled in fulfilled ecstasy
Flutter falling,
Stroked with golden thread
Sounds out fly
To sing a melody
Leap twisting,
Transfixed with painless smiles
Curves out fly
To dance a melody.
Thoughts out fly
To coalesce a symphony.
